Oh frabjous day, callou, callay. I would chortle in my joy if I didn't hurt so damn bad.

Well, boys and girls, and pandas of all ages, see what can happen when we work together? A better opening day I cannot remember in my 23 years of ballin.

Good turnout (maybe 20?) more or less started on time, and game was pretty strong.

What is most impressive is the level of new interest from new players.

We are an organized and semi-serious league. The way to join is to show up, and fight well. Check out AWVP TV on this site for videos of good fights.

Pretty strong opening day all things considered. Javi, last year' "rookie" of the year, showed why he got the vote. So did Dub, server of the year, turning in a 15-0 club shut out performance. He informs me this is his second 15-0. It's still a pretty exclusive club. I think it's Dub, Jess, me, and Fish, in no particular order.

Good balance of talent today, although I'm not sure we did a good job of spreading it out through the teams every time. Nonetheless, many competitive games.

I'm very pleased that so many share the idea a few of us had a couple decades ago--wait a minute--I can drink beer in the sun by the pool AND play a sport? How awesome is that?

If today is any example, 2015 is full of promise. Gladiators, I salute you!
