Welcome back! The sun is out again, and so are the pandas. In force. Good turnout today. Thank you generous host for the grub.
Notables: Sanders Baker and Joey can serve and hit. Joel NY figured out he is tall and has a swing. Late in the day Timmah served like 5 straight points and pulled of a good set from the back row, bad hand and all, after being on IR all last year. Nick came back strong, because he's been playing "real volleyball" while us waterborne players have been dormant. Forgive him his blasphemy, Ballchair, he knows not what he says...
Every season is a new test--how rusty are you, how cold will the water be, what do you have in the tank this year? And last, but not least, why are we here?
To play ball, of course! Which is what left me confused. The sun is still up. Why leave early??? Me, Navy, Dan, and a skeleton crew stuck it out, but it took like an hour and a half to get the last 2 games started.
Along with everything else in the skillset, this we must work on.
There is a dream that was ball. This is NOT it. When ruminating with the elder players, such a thing as leaving early and not playing on opening day of the pre pre season is unprecedented.
I hope this disturbance in the Force will not continue. Tomorrow ball begins at 2.
