Well the weather outside's delightful
But in the pool the chill is frightful...
So when you start to freeze down below,
Fight Fight Fight, Fight Fight Fight, Fight Fight Fight.

The cold is beginning to cut down on number of games played and attendance, but it has definitely spawned some great ideas for the fall lineup of AWVP TV:

My Two Jims: Reality TV where mssrs Back and Mansour move in together and have disgusting yet hilarious adventures. Expect guest appearances from Other Jim.

Creepy and the Gimps. A heartwarming dramedy/docudrama, wherein a loveable gang of mentally and physically challenged individuals trains to compete in the AWVP Special Olympics. Think drunken & retarded Murderball in the water!

Pat Panic! An animated series with a secret agent theme--the main character concept being South Park's Tweak meets Brock Sampson of the Venture Brothers--Go Team Argosy!

Out on Navy! The AWVP's answer to America's Funniest Bloopers.

WBXC (Wild Boys Extreme Challenge) Drunkards perform boobery in a variety of venues. Special guest K-K-K-Ken

And (Another) One: AWVP Austin Tour Follow the exploits of the AWVP's A Team/Black Legion as they take to the road in exhibitions of superhuman watervolleyball skills.

For cable niche markets:

Going Greek with Misto Christo. A cooking show, and so much more!

The Hebrew Hammer Power Hour. Superior watervolleyball through prayer. Special feature: Spike on Satan (played by Chief)

For the big screen:

AWVP--The Movie Kind of like the And Another One tour but with bigger budgets to allow the inclusion of international venues and actors to play the parts of various avatars in this larger than life, based on a true story blockbuster event. Don't worry, we can all have smaller roles in the picture. The role of Chief will be taken over by Brad Pitt, while the original Chief will play "Coach" in the grizzled tradition of Burgess Meredith in Rocky. The role of Navy will be played by the actor in the Transformer series, while Navy will play the lovable role of "Gopher" from the Love Boat.

All these wonderful ideas and more were spawned while watching UT dismantle Colorado, and by the lackluster turnout thereafter. This forced us into Jesus & Mr. Tasty vs. Creepy & the Gimps--Wild Boy Jess and Benz-no, who are both broken to the extent that they might be combined to make a single player. Not a lot of surprises in the few matches we played, before cold aversion took the better part of valor.

Sunday was a different story, though the omens boded ill at the start of the day. Let me get a couple of these out before we move on to the day's highlights. The Hater reached new lows before we even managed to get out to the obstacle. She yelled at a father with his three frolicing kids because they were too loud. Hating on children truly qualifies you for the Hater Hall of Shame. Also, why is it we can't seem to get out to the obstacle until 3:30-4:00? Trust me, it would be in all of your best interests at the end of the season to be out earlier when there is more sun--but apparently pandas have more thumbs and guts than brains.

Sunday--still cold, but not as bad, and we had Wild Boys galore, along with OJ, Creepy, Pat & Beth, K-K-K-Ken, and Tom Brady. Team Nebraska started out as Husker Do, but ended up as Husker Don't! A rather predictable result where Wild Boys are concerned. The Superstar's game came and went--serves have been a bit off, though there was one particularly nice one that broke the speed gun as it shot down Chief Alley like nobody's business and landed right on the middle 4. But overall, he seems to be overly concerned with safety these days. However, there were all too many occasions where opponents wouldn't even try to block him. Cold makes cowards of us all, but this really shouldn't become a trend, people.

I picked up one particularly nice block on Pat, and in turn, Pat had one particularly nice hit from the 4. If only we had these on film...

Best games of the day were at the end, with the Tasty Creepy duo going down to OJ & FrankenJess 18-16 & 15-12. Twice in a row we blew big leads. Very disheartening, but it gives Jess a shot at player of the day for overcoming adversity of a messed up finger to persevere in early evening 2's games.

That's all for now. We need a weather miracle to keep fighting.
