Saturday AAR. Enough of you needed Kenny’s call to (I hope) to make Grizzle’s journey worth while.
3-4 4-4 most of the day. Back ropes work. They change court from unplayable to playable. We had some new lady ballers and a pale guy named Blake, and Reno friend Travon joined in. Next time Travon plays no lifting.
Notables: pole shot by Grizzle. Chlorine was high today, and affects everyone differently. Navy’s eyes melted in like game 2 so I’d say he played well for a blind man.
I became a fan of the diamond formation in 4s today, after my usually preferred square lineup went down 7-0. However, people really need to work on their positions/spacing in both. I found myself looking at some formations and going wut? Experienced server is gonna take you apart like that.
Dynasty denied. Matias, Kenny, Travon and yours truly couldn’t overcome Alex Navy Reno Grizzle. Lost 15-13. I think if we hadn’t given them the point where Grizzle didn’t serve from the back rope we might’ve pulled it off.
For the doubters, you absolutely can spike on a short court. Ask Kenny and Matias, who did it plenty, and hard. There were also some good blocks by Grizzle and Kenny.
Kallie, awvps #1 fan, did a good job reffing and gathering errant orbs.
Short court 3s and 4s is different, but different doesn’t mean bad. You’d be surprised what you can get to if you put your mind and body into it.
Good times had by all pandas who attended.
Another opportunity presents itself on the morrow.
