Saturday opnw AAR.
2 meant 3 today, and then some. Good to see everyone getting back to the lateness groove (me included)?
For the millionth time, who’s gonna be there is the worst question you can ask in this game. If you show up, that will be one more person.
If you’re short players, try recruiting some. They can be full of surprises.
We had 4s then 5s then 6s. See what you missed?
You missed a couple of returns. My buddy Snyder, who goes back to the earliest days of Argosy ball, played a couple of games.
You also missed the return of Jorge.
And you also missed the longest treasure hunt in recent memory. Raylin(sp) lost his ring. Kenny found it probably 50 ft away in the bushes.
If I remember my Tolkien lore correctly, the character who finds the ring is Smiegel/golem.
So note to players. Jewelry in the pool is a rookie move. Remove your trinkets before entering the obstacle.
Other than that, strong performance from Raylin. He’s got a good sense of placement and had some solid slams. Watch how close you get to the net though.
Also for the new people. Setting = getting(points). Me and Kenny demonstrated the efficacy on like 4 straight plays.
Ram had some deconstructive criticisms for his teammates today. I fear he has been possessed by Baker. New Ram nickname: mini B.
Can Baker be replaced by AI? Maybe Dan can assemble some tracks of his best harangues and put them on continuous loop.
Strong performance from Regatron today.
Serves were basically king today. So get ‘em in(Ram)
After the 1 hour ring delay we finished up the paused game(won that one), and then closed out with last game to 21. It was close. Lost that one 21-18. I fear there was some gin involved for some of the players.
Long story short: if you show up, there will be game. Mixed skill ball can work. And be fun. As it was today.
See you pandas tomorrow.
