May Saturday AAR. As usual, my entreaties were ignored. I showed up within the middle of the 2 means 3 window and it was just Dan and Jarrod. Sigh. But then what to mine wondering eyes did appear? But a bunch of new youngsters with some potential. Turns out they’re residents too!

That’s what keeps me coming out. Yo never really know what you’re gonna get on any given day courtside. But if you don’t come out, new people will have no idea there’s a league at all. And they really need to know there is one.

Second reason I keep coming out—I love playing watervolleyball.

It was nice to see some familiar faces out there that have been unfamiliar of late: Edub and Ethan. Although we lost 15-2 the first game we played together. That’s why they call it the preseason.

Add LJ to the team and dynasty happened. Because of course it did. And of course Lj couldn’t wait for the AAR to announce. Queue the photo, Dan.

Notables today: Omar was “locked in”. Not sure exactly what that means. Locked in to inconsistent play maybe? But locked in nonetheless. Hopefully there’s a key somewhere to unlock him, if not today, before regular season starts.

I think Victoria earned her AWVP nickname today: Girl Power. That was earned by some strong serving and 3-4 kills on the day.

Speaking of nicknames, I was promoted from Chief to “king” by new guy Tyler today. Guess he misheard me but I’ll take it : )

Kallie was healthy enough to attend today’s festivities, which is the most important notable of all.

By days end, the pool was full of people, enjoying a sunny day, as Ballchair intended. Tbone would have been proud.

Thank you for all pandas and ball curious rookies who attended and played today. You made it a good day.

Those who weren’t there can only read about it. But given today’s ultimate success coming out of a very questionable start, ball will be played tomorrow as well. So absent pandas(and whatever newcomers show up) get a second chance for game and glory.

See you tomorrow.
