What a difference a day makes! Different more serious vibe out there. About 18 players, and only one buoy, whose name will no longer be mentioned in these annals. We all know who it is. The SUCK HELMET should be perma affixed.

Other than the aforementioned unmentionable, the SUCK HELMET had its desired motivational effect--game was much better today. Jorge and Angel even did selfies with it.

First pleasant surprise--return of Ross (24 year old Leo DiCaprio look alike who plays like the Dallas Terminator), and friends: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCQGnVrTsAM

They'll be there for you: Cat can set, and Ross is boss. Ross gets today's Jefferson award: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYV5f0Aqo4w

When he and Dub got to play Twin Towers, well nigh unstoppable. Except for when I got a block on each of them, and then they won the points anyway. See the nearly unstoppable part again...

Taz was part of 2 dynasty killer teams, and won 2 dynasties. Pretty good for a one armed bandit. Wait a minute--does that mean the last game to 21 was a Dynasty game? I believe it was! We'll get back to that later...

Other notable performances: Miami--pretty solidly back in the circle again today--we undersized players can show that under 6' doesn't always mean six feet under. Woodcock was hitting and blocking cockstrong. Walrus was fielding very well today. Ford did what Ford does--turn in a solid performance and help coach up his teams.

OMG--Alex made... a move today. A Danlike move--shot across the court, like a Ukrainian destroyer at flank speed. Didn't work, but it was a sight to see nonetheless. Chris the Beard continues to gain acceptance. Not as clawed up as yesterday. Has a good attitude, brings other players with him. New blood is the key to league longevity.

A decent job was done mixing the talent up to make the games competitive. I hope we are making Joe's final season as a Riata resident enjoyable. We drafted some good teams after the first dynasty.

Speaking of absences... Where is Tbone when you need him? The net needs help! No net play this weekend. Come back, Mr. Fezziwig.

Ballchair keeps handing Wescott abundant inexplicability. Hang in there. The other "little" big man, Joey was up there jousting and ripping. My favorite line when he got into the net a couple of times: "It was worth it!"

Today was definitely worth it. It gets tougher every year to get up there and go at it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCROba1aKfs&t=30s

But when you're a baller, you ball. Sometimes you do this when you should've done that, and in the late season, it's an unforgiving court.

Here's one maybe some of the new people don't know. Ball starts with your feet--something I learned from Navy when he taught me the ways of the point guard (socks part is an inside joke): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh2DzGccvJc&t=141s

You play on your toes out there. Anytime you are flat footed, you're turning into a statue. Not always easy to do, especially late in the day...

My feet are touching the bottom of the pool. My sets aren't going as high. It means I'm getting tired. Kenny is kicking my butt serving to me in the back row. It's getting dark. I can't see in the dark. I've had maybe one too many natties. I want to go home.

That's exactly when you have to suck it up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHat-k8wcFw

The team relies on each and every player, which means everyone fights, no one quits.

I think we started out down 3 in the last game, and were down until the late part of the game, which was a Big Boy game to be sure (we had a few today). When the game is on the line, you have to put aside how you feel, shake off the suck, and try to do the right thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-5bI3FtdTs

Ballchair let me be first, fast, and accurate. Let me be mobile, agile, and hostile. Let me be able to help my team defeat those who are trying to defeat us. In this, by Ballchair, I swear.

To be honest, I was feeling just about everything but confidence, but yours truly took the game winning shot. Just lucky.

Homage to rockin in the Bone Zone --some will win, some will lose in this wonderful, abundant, and inexplicable 2019 season...

This series is for Puns--almost time to turn the page on this year of ball...

And traditionally, we then go our separate ways:

Until it's time to get the band back together, next season:

Goodnight, to those who have seen the light.
