Everyone who showed up today gets an attendance award. And a jolly good show for seeing the long weekend through.

Something like ball was played today... often awkwardly, and in fits and starts.

And perhaps the best way to look at that vibe is to not have 2 f**ks to give, but that always throws my game off.

Let's start with notable performances.

Kenny Rogers has found a serve!

With practice, it could be one of the best ones out there. But then, the Walrus killed Kenny--not really, but landed on him. Ask Marcelo how much a Walrus weighs in meters...

Maimi... gaining acceptance with his play.

Might be front runner for rookie of the year right now

Speaking of flawless victories, I got to participate on the wrong side of the 15-0 game today. I got the ball over the net twice, and my team put it over 3 times total. Yes, it was that bad.

Attempts were made to achieve player balance, via captains picking drys first and filling in from there. It did not go well on one side.

I was not part of the draft process, but somehow Team Malachi featured Dub, Taz Ford Marcelo, and yours truly. Now if you had a couple bad ass Sanders on the other side to help out the Walrus, might be a game. That didn't happen. Juicy Wescott's complaints were long and loud, conveniently forgetting the team I played with that has already sadly been mentioned.

Rare that I've seen this, but Malachai's senior advisers deliberately skewed the lineup to make it harder for the team to function after the first win. This is a note to prospective point guards out there--lineups are important. Failure to recognize that puts your team in jeopardy.

Nonetheless, a Malachainasty was achieved. Malachnifiscent. Only one of the day. So there's that.

Captain Pippen redeemed himself when his team won the last game I played against them to 21.

Quote of the day goes to Gronk: I put my palms together and put the ball backwards over my head! How is that a lift? Despite his lack of irony and understanding of basic definitions, the Gronk is tall, motivated, and capable of shaming you. So be wary.

We had another bizzare pole play, the 4th of the season, the details of which I currently don't recall.

Hitters doing what hitters do and generally improving the rather low quality of play today included Dub, Ford, Walrus, Taz.

Ballchair demands accuracy in the AAR, so we must also mention... Winless Wescott. Is there a thing as too much juice?

Many aspects of today's games might make one's head explode.

And maybe, sometimes, the proper attitude is to have an improper attitude, and go where the juice flows?

No thanks. I can't do it. Hard to play when the rhythm is bad--when we goof off, we make bad music on the court:

And that makes me struggle to write positive AARs!

Rule #1--Have Fun, is nuanced. Is sloppy game fun? Not so sure. Focus not Fuckus is a rule out there somewhere as a codicil.

To borrow from Tbone's deep thoughts, I think there is a balance between good game and good times. And one must look on one's performances in both categories as Ballchair views them:

How does YOUR light shine, in the halls of Balhalla???

Think on that.
