Waking up with fond memories of yesterday's games, and trying to figure out how to do it again:

I'm not particularly timely in my arrival, but when I get there, I want to make sure the games move in a timely fashion.

And, ouch, I arrived just before Taz Scott Fish Shimmy LJ. Now that's some stacking.

Marcelo Dan led squad came closest to taking them out--had 10 point lead, but that was about it. After that the Stackers found the holes and picked them apart.

Sure, the game on paper looks like a foregone conclusion. But 10 points... that beat the spread, and it very easily could've gone another way--that's why we play the games.

Doesn't mean there won't be frustration. Leading all players on anger sponge was Wescott:

Even when LJ wasn't there, I'm pretty sure the Sheriff saw 6 LJs on the other side:

Be careful with anger... it can turn you to the dark side, and then you will become what you despise the most, and be known as Darth Wesslip!

But there was plenty of anger to go around today. Mine was mainly based on the misunderstanding of new technologies--the yellow lines. First, they are not to be snorted. Second, we put lines there to be the same as WALL. After many years of visual training, most(!) pandas have come to understand that if ball hits water first, then WALL, ball is in. But WALL is WALL. You can't hit a little bit of WALL and have ball be in--see Dub on this: LIMESTONE!

So let's reason this out--if LINE is WALL, and ball hits a little bit of LINE, is ball in or out? Since there was confusion and exploding panda heads today on this question, let me provide the answer: LINE = WALL = OUT. You got that???

We also had an extremely rare occurrence today--pole play! This will also confuse the newcomers, but everyone else knows that POLE = IN, so off the POLE and IN = IN.

We're also getting to the time in the season where we need to start calling lifts--scoopy poopy is what it is. I can understand if we've got new people playing that you can take that into consideration, but we've gotta clean it up. Liked LJs idea that you can decide as teams when you get in whether you're calling it or not. But if one team says it's getting called, it's getting called.

Lets turn from all the argumentative testosterone filled tales of argument and drunken bombastic greatness (and there was plenty of great play to go around today) to a moment of goodness for this league.

Enter the Obstacle: lady sanders Amber and April, the AA energizer bunnies, who are better players than most of us. Reaching into my limited analogy factory:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lc1hFl8sntk

They have taken to water very quickly--no more bumping from the back row. If you're not afraid, you should be. Just ask Kenny Rogers, who, after getting chumped more times than can be counted (girls named Kenny get 2 chances at blocks), he unilaterally broke the Riata rules:

I did not make these rules. There were there before my time playing Riata ball. To encourage ladies to play, they get the option of 2 tries on serve. Kenny took that away. Bad Kenny.

But it didn't matter how many rule changes there were, or confusions about line calls, or how blinding the sun was, because another small ball team did it again: AA lady sanders LJ Marcelo yours truly, and Dan the designated Big, did the Dynasty, with best server and hitter on the team going to Amber.

I've dubbed (where is Dub btw) this squad Team Contribution, because everyone contributed. No yelling, only constructive criticism, and pretty awesome chemistry for a team that's never played together before. What a fun team to play on, to a DYNASTY:

I'll let the angry pandas chime in on their own, and keep with the other positive things today:

Walruses and Tazzes continue to blast at a very high level--not my favorite things when I'm on the other side of them, but I can certainly appreciate the skill.

Also, we're in that time in the season where rallies and defense are very strong. Ball don't go down easy, and that's a credit to everyone out there. Fish and Kent had some pretty amazing plays, it's looking like Shimmy shoulder is no longer injured, as he's mixing in some strong serves and spikes again.

Drunkest panda goes to Nate White Claws, who managed to stand and serve, both at once, for many points!

Sure was a fun angry day!

Ballchair bless us, every one. Time to dance, in celebration of another day of ball! Shimmy, get us started:
