It's pretty amazing when a whole pool agrees on something. Especially when that something is props for one player.
It warms an old Chief's heart to watch a player be a student of the game, stick with it, develop their skills, to the extent that they come into their own and play exceptional ball, game after game.

That takes patience and dedication. As will watching this video--Pandas have a low attention span, so fast fwd to the last 5 minutes. I give you the Player of the Day breakout debut of Scully the Punisher:

Flawless game!

Cannot emphasize enough how pleased and proud to see a day like that.

Triple vids for Scully! Hard work and dedication pay off!

Turning next to old wine in new bottles, I'm forced to say this, because it happened--Monkey point guard team gets a dynasty? I saw it.

Hitter of the day was Ford. Many big put downs. His game was good all around, and there's a reason he's also called Coach Ford. If he talks to you, you should listen.

On the listening tour, Gronk is doing better at that. New Alex too. Chad still has some work to do--reminds me of Jim Back: million dollar athleticism, 10 cent head. This game is fun, but it's not clown college:

We'll bring Jim Back out of retirement, so they can both do the trick together:

And it may seem to the new guys like the game is impossible. It isn't. It's a circus. Learn it, love it, do it.

Bringing new players into the fold is difficult, but necessary. It's a simple lesson--the ball always goes where you put it:

Young Scully learned to be a Punisher! So can you! Be like Scully.

Teaching these lessons on a learning team can be problematic. Your record may not look too good. As the odds are against you:

The moral of this story is do your job, no matter what the odds. And hope that everyone else does.

Which brings me to the last game of the day. One of my pet peeves: my team has a big lead, and is on game point over, and over, and over again. Can't get one. On the good side. You have to play all the way through, and finish games.

Learn from Scully's performance today. It should be an inspiration to us all.
