I think all pandas will agree, there was one player who stood out today. Didn't play with him once. But boy howdy did Edub put on a clinic:

How many times do I have to tell you to stop messing with the Grape Ape's car!

Next shout outs go to players who don't always get them: Scully, Monkey, Kent. Scully is really coming into his own, looking great out there. And Monkey and Kent are playing better than they have in years. Don't call it a comeback...

I will have to mention the return of the Turtle to the court. His Lip was long and loud at the beginning of the day. Setting the hottest player on the court that you already have chemistry with is kind of expected. In time, the Turtle's errors on the day could not easily be counted. I will thank his team, consisting of the aforementioned players, for carrying him to a dynasty, because I know he won't. That's why it's a team sport.

On that front, good job today keeping everyone involved. I know it's frustrating, but Riata is starting to look like the pool of old, so there will likely be more interest. I credit Joe, Marcelo, and Nate for managing things behind the scenes to keep the balance between competition and participation.

Taz had a good day, for as long as he needed to...

Did anyone notice how many big ass hits were coming back today? Pretty early in the season for that. Day of the Diggers. I'll also mention there were some nice high sets out there from formerly unusual suspects. Keep it up (pun intended).

That is super good for the league. Defense and passing are important. For as long as the good games lasted, that is.

For today, like many days, the beer flowed like water, and then things predictably became unsound, as pandas morphed into... something else:

Maybe it's the burning waters that are causing the mutations??? Probably not.

Lost many, won few today. It's happened before, it will happen again. Best I can come up with on that is showing up is half the battle. The next is to battle for every point, in every game. Do your job. Frustration/anger can be an energy. Hang in there to go the distance, because that's what you should do to serve as an example to others:

When the hurly burly's done, when the battle's lost, and won, this is the most fun you can have with your short pants on. And to credit Tbone, that's what's important. So I enjoyed driving home with the setting sun, listening to this.

See you next weekend, Pandas!

5&3, and Dynasty to start the season. One missed serve in 8 games. I’ll count my mistakes in 8 games to single digits. Also, had few hits. Woodcock is becoming an offensive force, and good setter, too.
