Mid season is upon us, and it's not for the weak hearted. If your team wishes to prevail, you must make good decisions, you must play mistake free ball. * (more on * later)

And... I haven't always been doing that. I apologize. Don't know whether it's the years or the mileage. Time (ugh) will tell, I guess, whether I can un**k my game. Seems to get a little looser as the day goes on, but I digress.

Intangibles--like the music mix. A little change is good. Up tempo, please. Because I was once an up tempo and rhythm player, and would like to be one again, Ballchair willing:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rhSntdt70w

Maybe we can try a little Brazilian mix--I'm sure Marcelo could help out:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uK1UVLH1i2w

It's nice to share a little culture with people, all weekend!

Notables. For the second day in a row on the weekend, player of the day is: Taz. Did one of you kill his dog or something? If this keeps up, you should be scared of the Tazzyman:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eeWjiBVgCE

Someone go get me another bottle! Alternatively, maybe I should take the day off...

Next in line for mighty hitters, in no particular order, Dub, Mikey, Scotty.

Sets: New York, New York, New York:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGBQf2GSNC0

Prettiest hands I ever saw. He can block and hit, too:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPOgKNx7Lng

See what I'm saying about up tempo?

Marcelo and Navy were also very good setters. Circling the commode were me and LJ.

* (see above) So I want to thank LJs team, since he won't, and mine, for carrying us in that 19-17 battle. It was a hell of a game, and we both underperformed. Nate Nightshield, the secret weapon, and born again hard Monkey have been carrying LJ all weekend--good thing they go to the gym:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qrDlRsARwk

And yet, the funniest thing happened. Mikey subbed out late in the day for me, on the sun side. Usually that's not a good trade, and my suck has been somewhat nonpareil of late. But like I said, the funniest thing happened. The WORST give and go combinations that you could probably think of in your nightmares, WORKED: Chief to LJ, LJ to Chief, LJ to Nate? Really??? No, really. That did comprise a good part of our offense!

Emphasizing that's why we play the games, and let bygones be bygones when you're on the same team!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZEdDMQZaCU

When the suns up, suck it up. Play. I was kinda done, but with good music and good fellowship, why not play summore? Paid for that one. Got cracked. I think I hit Nate the same way yesterday. Injuries are down, and we all know the risks. All good.

Ws? Had a few. More than yesterday. W-L? I'm a gonna try for the former rather than the latter. But sun of a gun, I'm thinking about Rule #1. Sure did enjoy playing today, Pandas. What round is it?

Addendum: I admired Jarrod's energy, and some of his hits and blocks in the BBGs today.

Lol. Trump like perspective from Chefy. If 13&2 is circling the commode, then let me lick the commode next time for 15&0

Good catch, College. Navy was mentioned, but I was focused on the setting. But Navy played strong as a small forward.

Also interesting that the "overload" strategy of having the 2 bigs follow each other largely worked. It's a little dicey, but it was a just a couple points short of getting to dynasty.

One point of order. Not sure what happened in the whacky world of "next" out at the Obstacle, but Kenny reported he was on a winning (non dynasty) team, then got benched when it was decided to captain it up. This confuses me, but I'll assume it was done by general Panda agreement/Will of Ballchair. Both work in mysterious ways.

your point on back to back bigs is interesting. the LIP was also confused and angered by this move

it worked for 2 straight games and then failed. the failure was all me by screwing up two plays at the end of the 18 - 16 match. my word. nothing like executing to a T and then flubbing two in a row.

That Scotty College back to back can be very good and was. I know how the Walrus likes to be rubbed, errrr set, and we make it so.

Flukey that b2b bigs almost worked. Kenny is mis remembering as well. Y’all def reward mediocrity and losing greatly on these AARs.

Another strange lineup I remember working in games past was bigs down the middle, when they were in the middle. Mikey and Dub were giving and going back and forth from those mid positions.

Back to redux on the team's run that came up short...

We gotta have good clutch play, at clutch time, but more important is fundamentals. Our team missed way too many serves. I missed one. Now that's a tough call, because you can't just lob em over against a good team. But a lollipop is better than net or out.

We played some out balls that shouldn't have been touched. I did that, once too. That's a know your pool thing, and they were close, meaning the "out" calls from our squad were coming just a bit late.

Rhythm and chemistry minimize mistakes, and dare I say favor some luck, like when shit falls/or doesn't--see tape rollin, pole hittin ball I still recall looking at and saying "wtf"

Success has many fathers, but failure...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ad9mlvyA84E

Is worthy of analysis.
