I had 3 wins in 2 days. Yay for me!
But that's not what it's about. After doing a little soul searching, I remembered TBone's Rule #1--have fun. And I still am, win or lose, as long as I'm not letting my team down.
There's a good vibe out on the court these days. Apparently people know who we are, we're gaining some new recruits, and turnout has been good. Including more sanders. Sand and water can get along. Who couldaknowd?
One pro sander of note, who by far was player of the day. Those who were there this day know of whom I speak:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuKpvyO3-qEIt was an honor to be on the same court with her.
Other notables: Scotty continues in beast mode. Team Dry/USA beating the Russians (no, Joe, you can't just give us Dynasty to get more even teams. We have to earn it. And we didn't. That's why we play the games. See also, don't play with your prey. I hate that. Leads can disappear really fast, and it's hard to get the energy back). LJ's pole serve (has happened maybe once before, and is out BTW, though pole on any other play than serve is in), Alex had some strong defense as a late arrival, that is, until the sippy cup kicked in--my, how things have changed from our younger close one eye and play days!
That being said, waters still heal. It is almost always better to play than not to play.
Keep fighting. Because that's what we do, and all you can do, because your opponents are likely to get younger and taller every year:
