Son of a gun, gonna have big fun.

Amazing turnout today. Time to fight. And fight we did. Starting with the notorious Water vs Sand matchup.

Kenny Rogers, new to the noon ball BBG lineup, put us water types down by 6 on paper. Sand tends to get younger, taller, and more athletic every year (LJ helps balance that out), while water stays the same age, and we were missing some key players today. That line looked legit, since we went down by 6, and had too many service errors. But the experience runs deep, the pool and the game are long, and the ball is wet.

Anyone want to guess what happened? Anyone? It would be kinda along the lines of what usually happens:

WATER BEATS SAND 15-8, if memory serves.

No newsflash! is necessary, because that's what usually happens.

Like the recent 30 for 30 documentary, water has a distinct W-L advantage in this category, going back a decade, leading to the line: "What happens when you pour sand into water? Sand sinks to the bottom!"

Which is as it should be, IMHO, but not as true as it used to be. Water cleaned up its game to attract more sanders. No it's your turn. How did we beat you?

Do you want to know more??? See Part 2 of this post!
