To all soldiers, sailors, and all the ships at sea. AWVP broadcast follows... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWa0dZMHYeE We start the Season during the NFL draft? I like it. Thank you, Chief Tbone, for letting us know it was not too cold to play, and daring us to do so, by showing pictures of youngling players frolicing in the new healing waters. Note to Pandas. We are doing poorly at what was discussed at the Awards Ceremony--being organized, showing up early, etc. First I heard on the text track about ball was 2:30. That's at least 2 hrs too late, ideally. But F it. We all ventured north, to the Hot Gates, and great times were had. The water was not, I repeat, NOT, too cold. And this comes from the canary in a coal mine arbiter of temperature. This is playable weather. And we should play! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQpTf2wuuno The trigger for me to pack the fight bag and get to it was Tbone's pic of younglings playing. Yougnlings, before us. This will not do... AWVP needs sons. And the new guys were not bad. There were like 6-7 of them, which is promising. Because our ranks our thin. But thin as our ranks are, there were enough: Tbone, Alex/Bruce, Dan, Smash Bros, Mikey, Lil Dave, yours truly. I think I left someone out--Deto sighting! Not sure why or how, but he played. That, in and of itself is amazing, and should be given some credit. Notable performances, in no particular order: Dan, Dan, the serving man; Jess withi his usual moonball/serving accuracy; Ford doing what an MVP does, which is everything, including setting me(!) to great effect, and The newbs who hung in there. For those who chose not to attended, you missed out. It would behoove you not to make that mistake again. Ball is what we do. Remember that. This is my 25th year, and I still like to rock and roll. Most fun you can have with your short pants on. Thank you for the opportunity to play. Sunday is another day. Let's make it a good one. Chief out. |
