Jess received an invite text from resident Michael for poolside guitars and hanging out today.
I felt this was muy bueno indeed, so I convinced Jess that it would be a good idea for us to check out the scene. We were invited by a resident after all!
Jess and I did find our way to Deerfield and it turned out to be a good day.
There was a 2 on 2 game going on when we arrived, and a number of people hanging out in the guitar circle.
We asked if we could join in for a 3s game and they welcomed us.
It took a couple games and then we all knew that we were all cool and we started getting into our groove.
Games moved on to 4 on 4 and the play level increased. There were a few familiar faces there. Most notable player was a Hawaiian guy. Not a resident but friend of a resident.
I bought a new ball today and it's already popped. Not sure what happened. We didn't even play with it. Dixie chewed on it a little, and then at the pool some kids were playing with it. When I checked it later, it was popped. Oh well.
It took a few beers and a few games, and then things started feeling good. Deerfield has a great vibe in the evening.
