I like the sound of that, like the sound of one hand spiking. Many pandas descended upon the Argosy both days this weekend. And there was much rejoicing. Still a bit cold, but well worth it.

The nation's poet laureate, Jim Back, has already laid out what went down on Saturday. I have only a couple of things to add.

Jared's blocks should also be mentioned--good all day. A great memory from Saturday was the team of 2 Chiefs (new and old), Pants Back taking on Ford Will Jess Dan, and winning, in rather spectacular fashion, holding on to a 12-2 opening lead to win 15-9. Do you believe in miracles?

Sunday featured much miraculous play. I blocked Mikey twice, once from the mid-court in a 2's game. Spoons and powered home a spike and stuffed Scott a couple of times, as did Julio. The attorney must've read Jim Back's testimonial and let it go to his head. Turnout was late, but games were good. Chief Cricket ate my lunch at the net, and the took Dub to school as well, which is much more impressive. Someone was finally able to plug the lawnmower in, but not before Mikey's spikes found the pool after their long absence.

In my wall of text from last night, I used the word epic, and so it was...

Other news: Jared found a new Riata resident who came out to play--welcome Tyler to the league.

Also, I think I left my sunglasses down by the pool. Anybody find a spare pair? I'm feeling lucky in those shades.

New people finding their grove, old players rediscovering greatness--magic time is upon us, pandas! Which pill will you take?

Behold! Cricket makes his debut. A couple of things I left off the report--never before seen plays, which is kind of hard to do in a league with a 20 year history:

Scotty pulled a two handed slam that hit the bottom of the net and popped back over on his side. A hard to score a point for the other team when you're the hitter on offense in a side out game. It has now been done.

Play had to be suspended because the orb decided to suspend itself in the net. For those who are curious, the rule is "do over." on such a play.
