MRI results came back yesterday. I've got torn meniscus on top of the torn ACL. Doc couldn't believe I played ball all summer like that. Surgery is October 23, 3 days after I get back from climbing Guadalupe Peak. With rehab/physical therapy, I should be able to play ball in 6 months, which is just in time for a May start.

Yep, priorities are all in order. I got ready for the climb up Guadalupe Peak by using the stair machine for 30 minutes followed by 3 hours of walking on the treadmill with the ramp all the way up every Sunday while watching football. Believe it or not, the climb up the mountain was harder than those workouts. I wore a knee brace and had no trouble:

I highly recommend the trip to that park or Big Bend if you're looking for a cheap getaway with a little hiking or camping mixed in.

Surgery was a few days later, on Oct 21rst. Turns out the ACL was almost completely torn, so good thing I had the procedure. Rehab sucks, but I'm doing everything they say and will hopefully the knee will be at full strength by May.
