The Divas actually took the very direct website & text hints, and showed up before 4pm for the 1st time in forever for a partly cloudy warm Sept day of fight..Unfortunately, after their 4v4 (DivasT2DickShow vs 3PtGuardsMikeyShow, although is Chief really a pt guard is question of the year) victory they took Diva like beatings for the rest of the day..Dick was playing like he was 58 instead of 78, and made more than a few of us (me at least 5 times) look silly on dinks and serves…Def the Diva team’s MVP for their one victory...

Break time as pizza was delivered, and Jesus couldn’t cure his own up all night headache and quit after 1st game…So, after the DivasDickT2 4v4 win, the EdubSandJasonAttyScott2.5PtGuard(taking bday Chief down to .5 on that description from now on) took over for 3 games to take out BadTjDivasDickDrainDwayneT2...Upon realization that these were not fair teams from the repeat beat downs a little draft was held w/ Bday Chief and The Lip as captains…Strategy and lack thereof then ensued w/ the .5 pt guard’s picks starting from his bday gift of drafting 1st

1st round Jethro Edub
2nd round Ford AttyScott
3rd round Jason Crawfish
4th round DrainDwayne Kent
5th round bad TJ Dick

I noticed a flaw right away..1st of all, Edub should always be 1st pick, and that Bday Chief had basically just drafted most of the team he had been beating on our 2.5PtGuard team (Bday offseason recommendation: Study backsetting, backrow side setting, passing on 2, drafting for chemistry, focus,& effort, and not thinking Mikey and Jess are only 2 players to pass to)…Needless to say, more @ss whoopings occurred, although closer..

Last game to 21 of the day (which was called down as a mostly Riata vs mostly Argosy game) consisted of CrawfishLipEdubKentDrainDwayneSandJason vs BdayChiefAttyScottT2DivaShow…Direct quote from Ford to Taz and team, “Cmon, this is the most important game of the day.” Taz’s multiple responses thru the game, “NOW, we play!” Well, this ended up being real nice wide margin victory, but not for the Arg Squad…

I might have gotten Dwayne and Jason mixed up on a few of the game rosters, except on the drafted team and challenge game, but Bottomline: Edub went undefeated, the true PtGuards lost 1, and the Diva dominated teams only won the very 1st 4v4 game…Have to play consistent team ball to win at Riatata w/ the bigger pool has been proven most of this summer away from the Obstacle…Bigger Dudes can dominate the Obstacle, w/o as much team play…Not the case at the Riatata...

Not many warm days left, so lets get these Sunday games in while we can…Cowboys don’t play until Monday this wknd, so lets get out there by 330 again!

I like to mix it up, so I picked players I hadn't been playing with. Nothing wrong with Ford as a first pick, either. If I picked Edub first, Fish would have a fit.

Dwayne showed surprisingly good fielding skills, until the picked game, of course, which he started by letting one go right through his mitts.

I don't think the tinier TJ every really integrated into the system, whatever that was. I had no idea what that team was doing out there most of the time, although I was reliably able to set it to Ford.

Not sure if I like the formation where back middle plays 1 step behind mid front. Gets me all confused, and puts too much pressure on the two remaining rear guards.

Well, it was amazing that we were still able to field teams this "late" in the year.

I'd really like to try to shoot for 2:30 or 3:00 this week.

And we should really talk about when to hold the Council Meeting.
