I disremember Fraterday. Except for a couple of things: Charlie's day (mainly on the net, but on some serves as well), and bad Edub, for bringing Jack Daniels down home punch which was way too good, and making me look bad all day on serves, and Dick reprised his role as the Dick of Death, a show coming soon, on Fox.
Sunday was a better day. Fish formed the first superteam, then threw a Fish fit, twisting himself up in the net and screaming. The Lip's comment, "I never seen a man who just won 3 straight games get that angry." There was one really good contest vs this squad where an early lead, based on some sick serving by yours truly, was almost lost. Jared has really gotten the hang of blocking on the net, and is learning how to hit as well. The bearded bromance has been showing up very late in the day, but that didn't stop Ford from putting in a solid hitting performance. He'd probably rather I kept this quiet, but he's also learned Mikey's fingertip and wrist flick dinks
Monday was full of surprises. Once again a Riata superteam formed, but was surprisingly defeated by a squad that included Jared and Jonathan, and was anchored, by Lloyd. But on the last couple of weekends, the Tin Man has been able to prove he can move (we've also seen Creepy jump at the net--will miracles never cease?).
Out of a target rich environment, I decided by keep T2, whose flipper antics have been toned down the last couple of weeks in favor of good play. I don't know how my team ended up in this formation, but we had big TJ on serve, and a small ball front line: T2 on the left, Kent in the middle, me on the right. I think the side out that put us there involved me blocking Jason in the middle, which then put me up against Dwayne. I took him 3 times, and the rest of the front line played just as well, through about 8-9 points. The Spartans held the pass, and won the game.
Honorable mentions to Creepy and Jason for net play, TJ for hitting, LJ for color commentary. I can't believe it's over...
