Wise coaching and talent scouting skills were shown on this day.

We decided to resort to the old schoolyard method of picking teams, with Fish having first pick and me second:

Fish: E-dub, Jess, Lloyd, Dwayne, Dale

Me: Ford, Jim Back, T2, Dick

That's 6 on 5 with the first pick to boot. Long odds indeed for the undersized and understaffed squad. But, as is frequently the case, speed beats power.

I barely had to do anything after picking the teams--the first three picks did all the work. The other squad's mojo was at half mast before the first 5 points had been scored in game 1. I think someone was doing this to them:

Long story short, I think the opposition scored 8 points in 2 games.

OK, let me emphasize that we should really, really try to start playing by 2-2:30 rather than 3:30-4:00 during this long weekend. In all likelihood, minus a couple of miracles, this is probably it for the year, pandas, so let's go out fighting strong on a good note.

A couple of notes. Don't ever pick me FOURTH ever again. Chief will you be on good behavior or will you have to go to the ER again? The only reason why I played yesterday is because told me that I would be on his team ALL night. After losing all of his games, picked Edub as the number one pick, then Jess 3rd. don't mess with big dudes

On a serious note, has anyone spoken to Creepy. I've left him several messages and haven't heard from him. I hope the aliens did not get him

The team that won is lucky I wasnt there to even things up, and everyone was very unlucky that I wasnt there to improve the overall quality of play!!!

For the record, Jim Back was picked second by me, and was only chosen fourth overall.

I predicted that Ford would be highly motivated by his first pick selection, and that Jim Back would still be available for 2nd pick, and highly motivated to complain and kick ass to show he should've been chosen first. I was right on both counts.

Nice strategy Cheif...Big dudes would have chose team of big slow dudes that all want the glory and probably been ran...

Our 5 not only defeated the six, we crushed them through 2 games, causing Fish to comment, "I think those were the worst games all year."

also note that he was gettin mad about teams before the last couple games, so we went to old school draft situation and he got first pick and a 6 man team

he chose tinman and drain on purpose on...on purpose!!!...oh man...the extracurriculars have finally done him in...anyone noticed crawfish has become jb jr always wanting to quit this summer too...hilarious...and riddle me this: what do they have in common?
