Hoka Hey! Twas a great day to ball. Summer is almost here--I'd be able to feel it in the air if I could've stopped shivering.
Early action = better living through chemistry. This involved the Chiefs (me & mini chief/spoons) vs Wild Boys. The chiefs couldn't seem to order up any chemistry though, so we got beat up pretty bad.
Jim Back, E-dub, Ford & Mikey arrived a bit later. This is still April, so the Wild Boys are still playing great ball for a few more days, just enough time to teach them a couple of lessons:
Lesson #1: History--aka don't mess with the vets. 3/4 of vets squad took out Wild Ford
Lesson #2: Don't mess with big dudes--replace Chief with Dub, lather, rinse, repeat through 2 games, including a miraculous 10-0 run in game #2 with the sun in their faces, and you get the same result.
BCD (Back Chief Dub) almost pulled off the same trick, but lost 15-13. Ford remembered how to hit (like a sissy!) and really took it to me at the net. I returned the favor with some serves.
Jim Back was all over the place, in a good way--strong performances out of the gate. Not enough to overcome the Wild Boys at the end of the day in 2s when partnered with Dub.
All and all, very entertaining day--Team Wild played strong throughout. It was fun to have an audience again--a bunch of civilians watched with a mixture of bemusement and awe (as always!) at our antics from the hot tub.
Well, it grows late, and I see by the weather it's getting hotter this week, so I'll sign off in preparation for the next battle--I still have an all over body ache from yesterday..
