There were about 10 of them ballin' it up on Sat & Sun

Much insanity and heated ball convo after Saturday's games. We've created a monster, as Wild Boys & Dammit Spice vociferously debated the relative rankings of teams/players into the wee hours of the morning. Down side--loud noise and cranky pandas barking at each other attracts haters and gives Chief stress. Upside is people actually care about their game and where they are in the Pantheon.

Right now, Jim seems to be riding high in the MVP category, and I don't make the starting lineup or even 6th man off the bench. Good thing it's a long season.

Player of the day for Saturday goes to Jim, who was a dominant force. His attempt at a repeat on Sunday fell short, as performance anxiety and the (carefully scrutinized and barely legal) serves of the Wild Boys took their toll.

A truly epic 2's battle was the opening act on Sunday--Wild Boys vs. Navy Chief. Vets pulled it out 20-18. But the matchup we contracted for at the Awards Ceremony, albiet with substitute Orange Jesus filling in for the genuine article, didn't favor the forces of good. The Wild Dammit Creepy show was looking very strong, probably because they had spent all night arguing on Saturday!

Long story short--competition is really tight so far this year. It takes a few years for you to hit your stride, and there are more good players than at any time in the past I can remember.

So it looks like we have a really exciting season in front of us. If we can remember not to do things to jeopardize it. We need to be on the lookout for Haters. This can best be done by using our indoor voices outdoors, and especially at after hours parties at the world headquarters.

We need to respect the wishes of management in terms of parking. Sometimes we're probably bringing 10-15 additonal vehicles into the Argosy lot, so let's park em' where they tell us to park em.

Restrooms are not just a suggestion.

Safety meetings of any kind are frowned on by the AWVP, but outdoor safety meetings should be handled especially carefully. So far so good on the last two, but we're going back to old habits on the rest. So we need to be on the lookout in terms of our own behavior or a lockout will likely follow.

CB needs to do some more research. In a city as big as Shanghai, there has to be at least one pool with a net!
