Good ball was played at multiple venues over the holiday wknd. I am still very tired, so will keep this short and others can elaborate if so inclined.

Sunny skies all wknd and much fight. I was out of commision Saturday so I will start w/ Sunday. Mike was playing like the superstar many used to describe him as w/ devastating spikes, serves, and dinkology lessons, too.

Memorial Day invasion of Riata proved that cerebral, quick, and ball skills can take out a team of ogres w/ no pt guard as Chief, Crawfish, Jarrett, OJ, What about Bob, and I took down a team w/ far superior size. Also, yearly seasonal quota for threats/promises of seriously kicking The Lip's ass have been met early this year; w/ the honors going to "I dont know where to setup and like to mess w/ the radio between many points, my main Dallas man, Keith."

Notable side note: I think has been pointed out b4 in previous seasonal AARs, but when Jethro is on yearly Cornhusker pilgramage to Nebraska a lesser, kinder noise level is noticed. Also, no Brokeback sitings this wknd. Is he really retired or can we only hope~!?

Other notable events--Riata is getting more popular and more bizarre this season. I've never seen as many new people want to play before. A modest proposal: when there are lots & lots of peeps waiting to play you should move from "winners stay in" to "dry people in." If you've basically got two full teams waiting to play, get out & let em' play a game, rather than having to wait through a confusing string of "ups," (or get a whiteboard).

I don't mind playing with newer less skilled players, as long as it doesn't mean that I'm permanently "out of the rotation." IMHO, that tends to happen more with winners stay in. Also, if you show you're willing to get out after winning or otherwise sit out games, this will do a lot to forestall complaints, which I'm afraid will be forthcoming.

There's been a lot more drunken boobery out at Riata this year, and, for a change WE AREN'T DOING IT! Still, watervolleyball is a crime--the cop told us we should "try to keep the ball in the water, because people are complaining." At last! The advice I've been waiting for all these years.

Apparently all the errant footballs, people pushing each other into the water, etc., not a problem. It's that damn watervolleyball game. On trying to balance between access & matchups, I'd try to aim for access, or you're going to get complaints about "hogging" the court, and if you've got residents whining while non-residents are playing, there will be hell to pay.

In other news, I joined the 15 club this weekend at Argosy, meaning 15 straight serves that were either aces or led to points for our side, meaning game over, and in this case, the other team didn't score.

Doc, you're in the 1.5 meter club--you've gotten your clubs confused again!

Actually I am member of the 1.6 meter club and the 15 club. I was server during that game.
