I'm using dreamweaver to create this website, and I don't know the process of creating frames that are on each page of the site that are easily updated. Can somebody take the time to explain this. I would also like to learn how to customize the forum and have frames around it.

at some point we should get together with natties and we can do this. I have no idea how to do this with dreamweaver, but emacs is just fine. =)

I have spare time sometime in 2007.

I want to have a frame on the left and a frame on the top. When I insert an image into a frame, it says the image already exists. That is annoying. Can somebody tell me the basics of frames?

The short answer is that frames are evil.

Those with brains that have the knowing and the doing of such things should schedule a time and place to consume natties and Get R Done on website evolution, as Navy is threatening to announce the start of preseason soon.

I just bought web space on Host Gator and had no idea how much stuff hosting companies were including.

When you installed this message forum, did you have do it manually or does ipowerweb have a control panel with scripts (and an installer called fantastico)? Apparently, you can use themes with phpBB (sort of like winamp skins, only a bit more robust). Check 'em out:
http://www.themesbase.com/?category=phpBB

Other things included on my web host (and maybe ipowerweb) are "content management" systems with themes & templates. This would make it easy to manage sites with photo albums, polls/surveys on the home page, and other stuff. A lot of online gamers use these for clan or group sites. If you're curious, check these out: http://phpnuke.org/ http://www.portalthemes.com/
http://www.joomla.org/

I might put the phpNuke on my own site just to try it out (hey, never hurts to increase your knowledge & skills in the web developer business).

There's nothing wrong with good ole hand coded (or dreamweaver coded) HTML though, which is what I use most of the time at home.

The message forum was installed manually. I don't know much about what ipowerweb offers. I could certainly find out, but I just haven't. I'll look into it. There are probably some fine features we could be using. I've been learning html coding here and there, and am getting the basics of it. Suggestions are always welcome!

I'm thinking about moving the threads from the Statistics Forum and Suggestions Forum into the Water Volleyball Forum so that our forums would be down to:

Water Volleyball
After Action Reports
Recommended Products
Species Evolution
The Panda Room
Haikus and Beyond

Anyone got any comments?

Sounds good. No one's really using Statistics or Suggestions on a regular basis anyway.

Before it goes away--I have one last suggestion--let's set a date for the award's ceremony!!!

If p has issues with us having it at the compound, I'd prefer the OJ/Wescott house as a next option.

We can have it at our place if needed.
