This is my 25th year as a watervolleyball player. How this anniversary coincides with the AWVP is debatable. If memory serves, we started giving out awards in like 2001. Ask T2, he got one of the first ones. Website came out in 2005. So as far as a demonstrable league is concerned, we're either at the 11th or 15th year anniversary. I read a lot, about history. I find that shit fascinating. So here's what I propose: AWVP history project. Both living and retired players are invited to use the website to chime in on what they did with their summer vacations, or contribute submissions along the lines of "what watervolleyball means/meant to me." Because what we do in 4ft of water will echo in eternity! I like watervolleyball. Let the history project begin!!! |
