Dallas Chief,

The Austin Legions are forming. Thank you generous host!

How do you envision your tournament commencing? I intend to have a call in like the last time before kickoff, but how about a post on the basics:

How many teams? How do you plan to match them up? Same game and rules as last time in terms of 21, or something different? Who's your ref?

Heater working???

Inquiring minds want to know...

The weather forecast for game day is sunny with a high of 82. No rain is forecasted. The heater is indeed working fine. I just came from a meeting the community manager. He has raised the water temp to 95 for me so that we will have no chill come game day.

I will work out the complete program and have it out well ahead of Saturday. Yes, same basic rules as last year. We should have 4 teams this year. We are indeed opening it up to others at Ilume to play. Ilume is also contributing $$$ so that I can host the other residents. They are so in tune with this being the 2nd Annual water volleyball tournament. I can smell at 3rd Annual already!

With you guys having 5 players, then you are team complete. If you can bring another 5, you can enter a second team, but I need to know ASAP. Teams that are not playing should provide independent refs for the games.

We are looking forward to another great time with you guys. This is SO AWESOME!!! They are really more generous this year to us than last year. Plan to have a good time!

Dallas Chief,

We come with one team of 5.

From our experience last time at your place, as is the same in our games, refs are not gods. Players play and can decide to do it up if there's a big problem with a call.

I've expressed interest in chatting with you prior to our arrival about the particulars of the tournament. Let us know when you are ready to discuss and it will be so.

It was fun the last time, generous host. Should be twice as fun this time--I've been looking forward to this:

There shall be no war... these four men are my personal bodyguard. I'm just stretching my legs. Going for a stroll.

Now that I think about it, I think I'll head north. To the Hot Gates...

2nd annual Ilume Challenge. Thanks to all in both cities who have stayed in touch and worked to make this happen.

Ilume says they are ready. So are we. So let it be written, so let it be done!

Got me a team, same as the last save one:

Let me be the first to post here congratulating Team Pandas in their second victory over Team Ilumenators. Team Pandas went undefeated in their appearance at the 2nd Annual Water Volleyball Tournament this past Saturday at the Ilume in Dallas beating both Team Ilumenators and Team Dragonflies.

I can say that I personally had an even better experience with our games this year than I did last year. Having been through it the first time last year and spreading things around to get others to help this year, I think over all we had a decent party with some intense water volleyball games...two things that I think we all love. I guess that means that we have time to plan for making year 3 even better than this year.

All-in-all, the day seemed to much smother for me as it played out and we seemed to have more in attendance than we did last year. The games were certainly more intense and seeing the level of skill in the pool gives me great hopes for the future.

Chief, I hope that you have walked away this year seeing me more for my strengths (and weaknesses) and I likewise for you. Let's take on those things of ourselves that are indeed our strengths, allowing those strengths we have to grow what we're doing, and look to find ways to overcome our weaknesses that would or could prevent creating something that has momentum to bring more players into the game. Being better organized and planned for next year's playing schedule (bringing structure to the organization) will mean the difference in just succeeding, and being able to blow the doors off of it during our whole summer next year...which, by the way, will commence about April 15 in this neck of the woods.

Congratulations again for your skill and victory for a second year in a row. We so look forward to what we can do together next year. Did anyone say, "Player Draft"? :)

Dallas Chief,

I don't have the words for how welcome you made us. It was really amazing, and I'd have to say unique in our crew's experience. Even better than the last time. Thank you for the opportunity.

I like what you do and your style is nonpareil

Let's talk again about your connections with Milestone and an invite to play in Austin next year. I'm not a resident, but I can help sell it. And, to keep costs down, if you like, your team can stay at my place. It's a straight shot ~ 20 min from the venue.

I will put my suggestions for better Ilume play that we talked about at the after party in the "species evolution" thread, and I will lobby for game film to once again be shared. Game film is instructive.

Dallas Chief, I salute you!
