Sad news, Pandas, net and poles DOWN at Riata, all apparently due to a single "violation" pointed out by a State Trooper on pool patrol. Really can't think of anything else, because we've been on very good behavior. Said violation has been going on for at least 4 years. But not all the facts are in. Tbone is on it.

That being said...

WATERVOLLEYBALL IS NOT A CRIME. Except, when it is, of course...

I've sure enjoyed being made to feel evil by dedicating myself to be a good ball player, how about you?

I don't know if I can take another venue going down, especially since this event is unprecedented in Riata history, and the strike was without warning.

Argosy I could understand:

While I understand this outlook on what may be transpiring

I sure hope it ain't so. Billy Clanton's last words come to mind, "Give me one more shot."

And for those of you who have been detractors about efforts to make the exclusive resort community more panda and game friendly, now what?

Maybe Tbone can play the last video as part of his plea for restoration.

This just ain't right:

I wasn't dealt a very good hand at Argosy in terms of mounting a defense,

hopefully it will be better this time!

I've never begged before. But now might be the appropriate time:

Worst case scenario is what I've worked on since Argosy went down: safari, and diaspora. Followed by a reconvene when a new venue is found under the proper circumstances. Also, opens up a window for that Dallas road trip we've been hoping for.

I think Tbone has enough rapport and enough resident support to get this situation handled.

If not, we have to figure out how to survive and adapt, and find a new rebel base. We've spent too much time and energy doing what we do for it to be otherwise. And I sure as hell don't want to let the arbitrary powers that be who call us criminals win. No way!

Like guns, volleyballs are readily available, and they can't stop us from using them!

I always try to come up with contingency plans , in the event of a worst case scenario outcome, which was something I faced basically constantly at Argosy from 2005 until my departure.

BTW, why do you think we've been playing at Riata post Argosy? Just happened by magic, right?

While I trust the negotiating power of Tbone and the other residents, and sincerely hope that we "Bad Guys"/Pandas who are their invitees are not the primary cause of the crisis we are a group are now facing, I have to start thinking about what happens if it's game over at the Hot Gates, at least for this year.

I expect that such an unfortunate event would not put an end to people's desire to play ball, especially in 100 degree weather.

Given how many times it has happened, "what if we get shut down?" is always an operative question, and there should therefore always be at least an incipient contingency plan in place.

People won't like it, but it's better than nothing. So start thinking, and provide input.

God's speed, Tbone!
