Hello, Pandas, My computer was in the shop for 2 months. Free fixes are not exactly timely. Here is the email I received from our generous hosts in Dallas in its entirety. I have responded in the affirmative regarding our attendance. However, I have lost Ilume Steve's number. I have therefore suggested that the Panda of the Year contact him regarding another road trip for Spring Training purposes. How this would work was discussed during our post games victory lap. I'm down for another road trip, as are other Pandas I've spoken with, and have therefore responded in the affirmative. Ilume Steve message follows, in its entirety: Quote message Hey chief! Great to hear from you. It seems like you want to plan to be the best, as do I. We have discussed starting spring training April 12 or 19. Ilume management has already repaired the gunite pool floor in front of the net that was steadily deteriorating. There are additional pool repairs planned before we start up training, but they seem as committed and supporting as ever. We do also plan to seek out other apartment communities in the area that may want to assemble more teams. A roster of 4 teams playing each other is sufficient to have at least 3 up to 6 tournaments during the year. I have to let you know more about Ilume Management transition. They hired a new director, that canned the manager, that hired a new manager, plus hired at least 3 other staff to address the communities needs. I haven't met this new director, but she is a tough cookie...25+ years of luxury community management. We have exchanged emails and she seems very committed to working with us. The new manager and I have already had a business meeting and a 1-on-1 just to get to know each other. That went VERY well. We will have a lot of latitude for what we do here this year. I am looking forward to you guys coming up for Spring Training. I figure that I will get them into the water and learn basic setting and control for the first couple of weekends. We have access to the video screens and can run the videos around the covered bar in the back as training for the players. I think we are going to try to run training on each Saturday & Sunday from 4/12 or 4/18 through 5/17 or 5/24. A lot depends upon what the players will and won't do. I know that your participation in this will certainly help my guys to grow their skills. Please tell everyone that we do look forward to this coming summer. They will be the best water volleyball games played....ever! |
