On the homepage, what happened to the logo, man?

Yeah, we got the mascots out there, but there's a lotta white space and the text is pretty uninspiring. Also, too. No one even wants me to even bring Optimus out for events anymore and the Panda is long been relegated to the dustbin of history due to age and abuse, and has not been replaced.

Hence, no one outside of the old gang even knows what those symbolize. The AWVP red white and blue is far better as an icon or banner.

In short, that logo is dope. It's who we are. I was proud to wear it on a T Shirt. And will do so again. Always be branding when it comes to our league is not a dirty concept.

You disliked my new "Sons of Argosy" gothtard branding concept for uniforms. It is for sure debatable.

But don't take the logo away, man! Let us keep it, Lou

This must be addressed at the council meeting, post haste.

I beg to differ that everyone is a fan of Optimus except for Dwayne. I'll keep my sources clandestine for the moment, but there were several Pandas who told me the Mascot attracted too much potential negative attention, both at Argosy and Riata, and the general vibe I got on the rare occasions where Oppie made an appearance was "Oh, no... not THAT thing again!"

You bet I've got ideas regarding reviving the current text. Best to leave those for the council meeting.

What is not addressed in reply to my dislike is why the logo went away, nor can I detect any discussion of the positive/negative rationale in removing it from the main page.

In terms of positive suggestions, here's what I got, quick and dirty: put the logo back. Unless there's been a council/general vote that withdraws it from circulation, it is our brand.

Underneath it, "What are we about--playing watervolleyball!"

Next the pics that are currently up--Optimus, with the caption: "Competition--we have been around for 22 years; we know the game, play hard, and play to win."

Followed by the Panda, with the caption: "Camaraderie: we respect the game, the players, and each other."

Can't resist the Starship Troopers inspired line: "Would you like to know more?"

I'm trying to limit my notorious verbosity here. I could draft a whole freaking manifesto (we had a weird rambling one on the site once, not of my creation), but who really wants to read that? Minus demand for same, neophytes can make the mistake of meeting me personally and asking what watervolleyball means to me!

I digress. What are the opinions on the basic suggestions I've put forward?

Chief, the logo has not gone away. It is still on the homepage. It has never been removed. It has always remained and it shall continue to remain.
