One more thing. It might be possible for us just to plan on playing 4 on 4, but assembling as many teams as possible. Thus, I think we could have a really good time with 4 teams of 4 with 1 team emerging as the winner of the ilume cup, which may be just a title without a physical, but give me a little while to work on some sort of trophy. I don't want to ask Luke to spend money on us. The fact that he supports us wanting to play is good enough for me.

Let me check with the management here to verify, but I would think they would welcome the others here in Dallas to put forth a tem to play. 10/26 is the day!

I hope it all falls apart and the heater fails to arrive - I will be in London over 10/26. The following weekend would work for me.

If the pool is heated, I will play anytime. :)

Mikey said he's busy all weekends in October except for this weekend, and he's our best player*

*My opinion of course

I've made plans to go out of town some weekend in October. I need to check which one it is.

I think Pat and Mikey should be a part of this thing.

Maybe 11/2 is a better date for the ultimate AWVP pool safari!

And on that note, I will remind the Vet Killers about their most famous omission in showing this video. Their reign lasted all of about a month, when the Vet Killers were handily dispatched by the "Young Bloods"--another team waiting in the wings, who had never played together. Which made their win, I thought, especially spectacular.

Somehow film of that game never gets shown!

I must have blocked that one form my memory :thatsfunny:

Who was on their squad again?

Sir, we are professionals, in both the volleyball and partying realm. I was planning on fighting both days.

And would be willing to do so, heater or no heater, if the weather is anywhere above 80.

Ideally, we get in Friday night, start fighting Saturday 1-2 ish, and put in game until sundown. Round 2 could begin Sunday around 3, and end around 6.

Let's make sure there are game film options.

I say we accept this challenge:

dan, sirs, i wouldn't wait up for me.10.26 is a wedding and then two of the three weekend in Nov are taken with family and me getting surgery (wisdom teeth). i am in Europe the rest of the time for work for most of Oct.

make it happen and i will join if i can. might only be for a day if so, but possible.

10/26 might be the best bet if you can get a taz, chief, dan show going.

this sunday it is forecast to be 45 degrees in austin. so who knows.

Sadly that's the one weekend I can't go. I'll be on a trip with several people that been several months in the planning.

I haven't heard back from the Dallas guys to see if they've contacted Steven yet...

That sounds like you're having sour grapes as your appetizer, then a main course of chicken....not be there on game day?!?!?

Are you chicken, McFly?

Looks like we likely have a good squad of at least 5 for 10/26 :woohoo:

And one of us used to live at the ilume

That's awesome!!! I have left vm for Nowell, who did come by to visit and see the pool. He told me about some fellows that wanted to play fairly in the pool that they had a balanced "regulation" pool built in McKinney. It would be great to use that venue in the future for any final outcome plays/tournaments in the Dallas area.

I discussed this with ilume management and they support it: Let's play 4 on 4 with extras serving as subs/reffing and that allowing the local Dallas boyz to play, then we could let the winners of 2 matches play each other for the final cup winner. I am in the process of making the trophy! Too appropriate. I will unveil it when it's ready.

We should plan on a total of up to 9 games to get through the entire ball play day. We would like to be complete by 5 pm so that everyone has 1 hour before a cocktail reception hosted in one of the units here at ilume from 6 - 7pm, and then on to the block party, which I guarantee will be a fun experience for anyone.

which player has previously lived at ilume? Jeremy and Ernesto are bound to know them. They are being very supportive of all this.

I still must build the boundary lines. I have been authorized by the management to build a temporary installation for roped boundaries that would simply attach to the side of the pool. I will post more updates as they transpire. I will see if I can also get the management to decorate the pool area for Halloween for the Saturday event.

your input is also welcome. what would you like to see/do?
