Reports indicate Deerfield was shut down by the local rent a cop tonight.

Well, we can't say we haven't been down this road before. Question is, what is to be done?

Last time, the majority of pandas opted for this strategy:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7vtWB4owdE

I implore you not to go down that road again.

I've been told countless times this summer that this is a perfect venue and a fine replacement for the Argosy. Now it's looking like it goes down after one season.

I've also been told on the subject of Deer in no uncertain terms on this site, STFU, "We" got this. I concur. I'm just a soldier now, especially down there. However, I do have 20 years of experience, or thereabouts, on keeping an obstacle alive, albeit barely. And there appears to be a crisis.

So, unsolicited, here's what I got:

If you want to keep it, you've got to chief it. I suggest a meeting of southside pandas to figure out what to do, and drink beer and get safe, of course. It is in your best interest to work together to decide on a course of action. Both for the present and the future.

Quitting now and coming back next year won't solve the problem--management and cops have a long memory. Doing what you're doing, and hoping no one will notice, won't solve the problem. See Mirage.

Fraud through bracelets is a quick fix, but a cheap trick that reminds me of Deto--the place is too small for you to get away with it for long.

What else ya got?

I look forward to the report of the Council of South Side Elders regarding the course of action going forward, and await my orders from same. Two days until the weekend.

The question on the table is, "is our pandas sanctioned?"

Playing weekday ball with no residents isn't smart. I had a real bad feeling after that cop showed up. We said a resident was on his way and the cop left. I figured that it wasn't going to end there, and sure enough a resident patrol showed up just before the rain and told us all to leave.

Attorney mouthing off to him probably wasn't a great idea.

I don't think I want to show up there this weekend. We are on their radar now.

Deerfield has been a good venue but we have to be smart.

Trying a WW without residents has now proven to be a problem, so I suggest we don't do that again.

Agreed Dan.

That Scotty making a fuss? that is just beyond dumb. Avoid all contact with police or security, in ball and in life. Just don't do it.

I would go full halt on this as you note Dan.

I would also make sure Rob and Andrew are updated accordingly.

Good luck. its a great place. We can't afford to lose it.

I say we stay away from Deerfield lest we rapidly transform that place into an Argosy martial law police state.

The resident patrol was a big buff dude and I heard attorney saying are you proud of yourself. It was not a friendly encounter.

So that guy is no doubt pissed and has told management, and if he has a run-in with us again he'll probably threaten us with consequences.

We've made good progress there in 2013, making lots of friends, but I don't think we should push it any more this year.

I think that may be footage of someone without a pool pass at the Argosy

Well, maybe there are enough of us to make the Riata work one or two days this weekend. Dub, LJ, Tbone, Jared, new guys? Anybody?
