Time to take up golf...

Actual Argosy denizens received a note on their door this morning, advertising a pool party. The occasion: new rules! Which are fun for everyone! They will be issued pool passes. And, oh yeah, they're taking the net down. Because of noise, and a green pool, supposedly.

New management is throwing a party for itself, celebrating what they think will be less work for them. Mark my words, with no ball, there will still be noise, drunkards, and a green pool. I encourage the remaining residents to take a picture every time this happens and send it to management.

Open thread. Start researching new venues

Dwayne needs to quit squawking and screaming after every damn play. He doesn't realize how loud he is. I would tell him to be quiet, and now we are finished.

What did i do? I'm a good broccoli-eating patriotic American. I was even thinking about buying some C batteries.

Would Dan be willing to stop by a couple times a week and brown out in and around the pool area as a form of protest/performance art?

That's ridiculous.

I only brown out in the toilet and my pants (well except for that time at Flat Creek, and then there was that one time in the woods, probably some others I'm forgetting...), and I think that crapping all over the place is no way to proceed.

I think they should drain the pools entirely. The area could be put to much better use for burning trash and Masonic ceremonies.

Are they hiring pool monitors?

I suddenly have a lot of free time and am thinking about a part time job.

We should've all chipped in and rented our own Argosy apt for the summer

I have access to this pool below. It's over on far west, but if you want options we can try this.

I think I've been there. It's worth a try.

Does Argosy management have any idea that they are crushing the best water volleyball scene in the history of mankind? And for what? What did we do? We sure didn't turn the pool green. We clean up after ourselves and care more about that pool than anybody. The AWVP tradition goes back 20 years at the Argosy, with former residents still coming back to play.

Do they think there are too many guests at the pool? It's not like we are a bunch of outsiders not affiliated with the Argosy, and anyways the pool never seems too crowded to me. Did somebody complain that it's too crowded? We've got residents that are always playing ball, and we have many former residents coming back to play. What's the big deal? We let people play ball if they want, we ask people if they want to play.

Hell, I would pay an annual fee to the Argosy to just play ball there.

This country was founded on the idea of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Shutting down poolball is like punching the American flag in the face.

The best part is they are throwing themselves a party this weekend for doing it.

I guess that would be a hater hootenanny. And it would seem to contradict their complaint about noise emanating from the pool area...

From the photo, it appears the pool is still green. We last played Sunday (when it was already green) for about 3 hours. Hmmmm
