Actually wrist-fu for me. Suffered a sprain on Saturday--couldn't even open a beer with my left hand. Feels better now that I've got the ace bandage on it.

But I'm probably out at least until the weekend, maybe longer. Apparently Argosy failed to achieve on Sunday. I am disappointed, because there were plenty of players calling/texting individually, but no game plan. Pretty shoddy even by Riata standards.

I expect you pandas to do better.

I think we've hit the mid season slump. Chief is injured. JB is injured. Mikey and Bunny are swimming topless in the Mediterranean. People are being abducted by aliens...

So you're telling me the one weekend I haven't been there, Riata was different than every other time I've shown up this summer?

Keith and I have found some more decent places to play in DFW, but I was thinking about another road trip to Austin either next weekend (7-30) or the weekend of 8-13, then again Labor Day weekend to end the season. But after reading the posts above, I must ask: What the hell is going on down there?!

I've been gone from Argosy for less than a month, and without a firm hand at the tiller, the ship seems somewhat adrift.

All sorts of complaining--games aren't good/competitive enough, people don't show up... look around, pandas. It's the same game that's been going on for quite a while now. And perhaps you've forgotten the simplest rule of Argosy ball. 1 resident + 3 players = ball. All else is extra. Remember the Dark Times when this simple equation was not do-able? What ever happened to people calling for "secret 2s?"

Well, now I'm setting up an appointment with a specialist to see what I can do to get back in the game. I'll still come out to support the game, but I gotta tell ya, sitting in 100 degree heat drinking beer and NOT playing leaves me dehydrated and cranky

I did, and minus low turnout yesterday, the league is back to its usual vibrant and dysfunctional norm. So those out of towners planning a visit should not be afraid.

Still can't get off the DL I'm afraid. I tried playing one game yesterday because Jess and Big Shot had blown out resident D(avid) (generation)6 and his 2 man rookie posse 15-1 the game before. So I made it 4, scored 4 points in 5 minutes playing right handed, then got hurt again. The remaining 3s team lost 15-7.
