They're rash guards rather than wetsuit tops, but they help a little bit. I'll bing mine. I wanted to be albe to list the starting lineup today, but I guess we'll just follow the weather report.

We can make the pool temperature anything we want, but anything over 90 will wear you out pretty quick. A few of our regulars have tops sort of like Under Armour. They basically just knock the wind chill down off of your shoulders when they are out of the water. Don't watch the weather on our account. Like I said before, unless it's lightning, you guys show up and we play. Sounds to me like if you can get OJ locked back in that you've got your lineup.

I'm sure chief can handle a non-smoking ride as long as you stop every ten minutes so chief can open a new can of natural light and light a new cigarette.

I'm game if the weather is nice. I just don't want to waste 3 of my well earned days off and then have it be too cold/storm and not be able to ball. Then I'm stuck in Arkansas acting like a Razorback er something, and kicking my own ass because I paid someone $50 or so to take care of my dog for 3 days. Let's just see what mother nature brews for us in the next couple days. That's understandable, right? From what ol horse said then I'm in. But if it's looking nasty...I'm out.

...if I go, I can drive. Cigarette smoking is permitted. The train will leave BY noon on Friday.

Otay, but let's get this figured out asap, because I don't want to scramble the decks and suddenly find we're short a full 4 man team come Friday.

Right now, interested parties who've said "I'm in" include:

Me
Jethro
OJ
Jim Back
LJ

Smoke free car OK in my book--there's going to be stops along the way.

It looks like they play a 4 man game. Because of the continued discussion and flake potential, it's nice to have alternates, but as I understand it, 4 is the numer of the counting. 5 thou shalt not count, and 6 is right out. Please stick to instructions, pandas.

It doesn't hurt to ask. We can always play 4, but have a couple extra there if it's cool with them.

The guy who owns the pool has asked that we limit this initial meeting to 4.

OK, as of this posting, the lineup is now me, Jethro, JB and Ford, with LJ on the alternate list in case someone else craps out between now and Friday? And, according to Ford, we stay in Fayetteville? But Ford will be arriving there separately?

If we wish to reach our destination in time for Lakers-Celtics, I'm thinking departure from this fair city is going to have to be 8:30-9:00 am, to give us some cushion in terms of traffic.

I honestly hope some sort of plan begins to form by... tomorrow!

OK, so the way I understand this is that JB has volunteered to be the wheel man, three of us head up from Austin, and Ford meets us at our destination, though how this is all being coordinated is still a mystery to me.

Weather report from what I've heard is between 45 & 35 degrees with chance of rain & light snow.

It's Jim Back. Who can say? He's gone under the radar for the last 2 days.

The weather forecast continues to change and looks progressively worse. We once played with snow flurries falling, but probably less because it was fun and more so just to say we did. Having said that, you guys are investing the travel time so the weather call is 100% yours, and you can make your decision as late as you wish (Friday morning before your scheduled departure time?). As I said before, "you show, we play."

Our regular game is usually mid-week in the evening after work. Because of some of our sons participating in youth basketball on Saturdays, this weekend will be the last opportunity to do this probably until March or so.

On another note, I read a post on the forum that discussed "pushing" serves. While we are strict about net play, we are a little lax on our serves. You can't see the servers in our videos, but a lot of our serves would qualify as a push. Since you guys are willing to adapt to our net rules, we've agreed that all of our serves will have to be hits and not pushes. Perhaps that will help to limit the home pool advantage to some extent.

Here is the fucking deal; I just awoke to a nightmare or sorts. So Chief, let me pose some questions to you. Why is that a man named big horse contacts this site and inquires about ball; and the next week we are scrapping to go to Fortwho Arkansas to ball? I understand that you want to see what it would be like to actually have everyday access to your very own water volleyball heaven, but aren’t you rushing this a little too much. What if our new friends flake out and won’t be able to play. What if their kids begin to say words such as asshole, fucker, or fagot because the weird savages from Austin repeated all day when they were in the pool on Saturday? Two eight drives, in three days over a busy holiday season, one of the drives being hung-over and crabby. What if these Arkansas pandas realize that all the guerilla of orange can do is hit from the two and set and serves him all day. What about Blah: throwing beers can, taking safety meetings, and raiding there freezer. “Blah I won’t do that”, yes Blah I heard that one before. Chief I do believe that when the Rhino and I won the Thanksgiving Day Bowl last year that you almost died of hyperthermia. But the pool’s heat, yes but the air will be freezing; I guess your Mr. Tasty Robe will keep you warm. Of course what would be worse than a Jim TO meltdown, because not an adequate number of shots. I hear Fort Smith is one the most popular travel destinations in the world, we can have dinner at the Petro and go out on the town later that night. If somehow we don’t get beat up at some dive bar because OJ tells some redneck that Jim Back wants to fuck his toothless girl then on the way to where every the hell we will stay at; we can deal with the local good ole boys. Texas plates in Fort Smith, funny clouds coming out of the motel room, and four questionable men; that would warrant attention from the local 5 0. The last point is this; I don’t feel like babysitting a 31 year old man, dealing with a retarded orange hippie, or a sissy, prissy old man. I think you have done that before, Galveston. Oh yeah that’s right! If you want a fourth go to Deto’s with a bottle of Sailor Jerry and you will be on a fun filled vacation the next day; he would love to be included in something important concerning Panda Core. Texas/AM, Kansas/Missouri, turkey, four day weekend, cold weather; Chief we can wait to go to Arkansas and I would love to go and play, but I don’t think the play is this weekend. :bear:

I hate to admit it, but that was the freaking most awesome and accurate post ever!!!

Brokeback Jim, I didnt know you had it in you to actually make since w/ fewer than normal spelling mistakes and actual flow of sentences that made sense...I could picture all that in picture clear clarity...

He made some damn good points for a change...Of course all his avatars piled on, too...

It must have been like when an Alzeimer's patient has a moment of clarity...Dont worry Jim, we wont get used to you actually being coherent and almost normal...

So we've gone from having too many players to too few. Fine. Looks like the trip is off. I'll be getting back in my coffin now. Someone wake me up when it's time for the awards ceremony or in March, whichever comes first.
