Shirt thing sounds ok, but also sounds like a way to end up with a lot of wet shirts.

Why not get a whiteboard and have people write their names on it?

The place Charlie and Keith used to play at in Dallas in the 90s switched from shirts to white board because the list was getting too long. I think they put one of the girls who was always out there working on her melanoma in charge of policing the board. If somebody on the list joined a team higher up on the list, their name was removed from the list along with the person whose team they joined - they couldn't go in, come back out and still have their spot in line. many a drunken argument happened back then...

I'm going down near SMU tomorrow to play at the Village, and will see how they are keeping track. I think they were using shirts when I stopped by there two years ago.
