I have been a Mikasa buyer for years, but it is time to retire it. The balls have chunks taken out of them too easily and get heavy. This Wilson is lighter, does not take nicks or get holes as easily, and does not soak up water as quickly.

I think we should seriously before any jokes or common backlash consider making this the official orb for the season.

I'm laughing my ass off right now!!! Poor L.J. can't catch a break on anything today. O.J. just totally denied any other balls. That's funny. Argosy training in total effect. :P :P :P :P :P

Me love Mikasa.

"Misty wouldn't put her Olympic gold signature on anything but the absolute best volleyball. Using a combination of her experience and our ball building technology, we have created the ultimate premier recreational beach volleyball. Guaranteed for two years of fun!"

If you can't trust Misty, then who can you trust?

Haha...some other things we need.

"It's time to upgrade your tournament with this set of four flags. Now the cameras can focus on the flag and not the line judge. Made big enough to see on television but small enough so you can't hide behind it."

I'm not sure which Mikasa you guys have been using, but this is ball we use. It's not stitched, so it doesn't hold water, and the cover is pretty resilient.

Bighorse, that setup looks awesome...

In fact, I am a fan of the same Mikasa except for the fact that we tend to use one or two balls at the most all season or the same balls from the previous season that are nicked to chunked up and waterlogged more than the Titanic...It becomes hitting a shotput w/ a little give...What cracks me up is hearing some of the people that have trouble getting the ball up bitching about the lighter Wilson balls...

One of the Pandas needs to hit the lottery or one w/ great credit needs to build a pool house w/ similar dimensions to the Obstacle...although not likely w/ our motely crew...I think my credit score finally peaked at 500 this year...The very secured pay up front w/ 29% interest Platinum offers are rolling in...

Those Mikasa MV210 are close to what the Dallas guys use. No-stitch synthetic leather, which means less likely to get waterlogged and heavy.
Almost that time. This weekend I'll be at the Reggae festival, though.

Hey L.J. , don't worry. Someday I'm going to buy the Argosy. I will fire the current staff and hire only hot chicks in bikinis to staff the office. Natural Light kegs will be in the main lobby instead of those stupid cookies they put out. There will be no such thing as a noise complaint, it will be known as a hater alert. If you make a noise complaint or call the authorities, there will be a eviction notice given to said resident. No credit check or rental history will be asked for, only if you are willing to play ball or have played ball before. All residents have to come to the pool at least once every two weeks or a warning will be issued to said resident.
L.J., would you like to live in my apartment??Oh, also, does anyone happen to have 5 million I can borrow?? I'm good for it.

We've used the no-stitch balls for years and never had one even remotely waterlogged. When they get old, they tend to get a pump knot somewhere in between two panels, and then we just throw it away.

We prefer the old version of the white VSL-215, but the new version has a "fuzzy" feel to it and is slick as snot in the water. We still have a few of the old version, and some of our players will still grab one of them when it's their serve, while others (mostly the jump servers) prefer the MV-210. We've also used the V2000 and the VFC-210, but everyone seems to like the MV-210 the best. We frequently play at night under the lights, and the blue/yellow/white is slightly harder to see, but it seems to have the best feel so we tolerate the night time visibility issue.

I've never thought much about it, but we usually have about 35 balls to use (it varies by a few depending on how far down the hill some of them go). That's over $1000 worth, and that doesn't include a couple dozen of the newer "fuzzy" VSL-215's that we don't use anymore.

We do have it made.

The newer no-stitch orbs have a odd fuzzy feel to them, but they are pretty slippery on the field, which, besides being light, has been my problem with the no-stitch pick from my own limited experience.

On a scale from light to rock. I prefer rock 6-7 characteristics.

BTW, OJ was a candidate for the long delayed Arkansas trip. Last I checked it was me, Mikey, Jess on the short list. Lots of qualified applicants for that 4th position.

Yeah, we retired a couple dozen of them for that reason, but the MV-210 doesn't have that same texture. We haven't bought any balls for a year or so, so that could have changed, but the thirty or so we are using at present don't.
