The Jim Back Foundation for Self Promotion and Home for Wayward Award Whores--in these particular categories JB has shown amazing stability.

BTW, it's "hallelujah" and holla Chief!

There were 6 worker bees at the pool when I left for work, but dammit! Now it's raining again. They need to put a big tarp over the pool area so they can work regardless of weather, and floodlights, so they can work at night.

Must be kind of what people felt like when the Mongols stopped by their village for a little friendly visit...

Hey, nobody misses home more than me. But LJ's got a point. Everywhere we go we make a splash, because the locals realize pretty quickly that we represent something a little different than they've ever seen before!

Of course! These last six weeks have been part of an elaborate conspiracy. Just prance on out to the Obstacle and jump right in!

Except that we're finally forced to safari. Sure, we make some mistakes (Mirage), but we're finally learning that there is other (semi) intelligent life out there, we're improving our "first contact" skills, and will hopefully be the better for it all the way around.

Camera work was giving me a headache, but good to see action from only six weeks agao? Seems like so much longer!

Where is all this rain coming from? How are my worker bees supposed to complete pool upgrades under these conditions?

Hell, if they'd just put a crew of like 5 guys on it, it could be done this week

OK, they appear to have a bunch of new boards piled up by the Obstacle, and are installing railing in front of the office windows. Maybe they're tired of us rattling them all weekend long.

Nice AAR. I agree about the friendliness of the LO crowd. I left my keys and wallet there on Sunday (oops!) and they were still there when we went back later on in the day searching for them. At that point I was hugged by a sailor, who obviously liked my style! Managed to neglect that part in my AAR...

That's two scoops for the price of one! Theme for the weekend: we take it over! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZqd5Bqqtr8 Scoop #1: Lincoln Oaks. Once we found out there was not net at Cap Rock(damn them!), It was time to take the panda show on the road. But where to? Mirage is no longer an option,...

What OJ said

Also, late start time on Saturdays (5 ish), which could be post-safari, so management won't actually see us would be a good idea.

Let this Mirage business be a lesson to all. I have no idea what take management will have on use of the "new" Obstacle when it reopens at long last. So rather than take the attitude of showing up whenever we want and doing whatever we want, it might be best to show as much restraint as possible. Th...

As I said in previous posts, you also need to stagger the pools and stagger the days you play at them as much as possible to avoid Mirage malfeasance.

Even if people are on the lookout for you, they have to be pretty big time haters to watch for you every day.

We should get with Crawfish to find out when the poolside bulls retire for the evening--I'm guessing they'd be packing it in by 5-6pm

Sounds like a good idea. Weather permitting, of course.

Next panda who is looking for place to live needs to move in to Mirage--that would be a very satisfying FU.

Would have been nice to have some resident support.

An anonymous call saying glass has been found at the bottom of the pool could make the rest of the summer very unfun for these fightin' families. Plant a couple of shards poolside as "evidence." How's that for a conspiracy?

What Doc said!

We should leave them a little note on AWVP stationary, chastizing the locals for making us feel unwelcome. We will now remove our greatness from their presence, and promise to return like Quetzequatal when they are more advanced.

I got this news just as I was about to head up. WTF did you guys do up there? Heard it has something to do with kids. The whole resident issue aside, I still haven't been able to fathom why there are parents out there who demand the "right" to let their little ones play wherever they so desire, even...

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. I discovered I had no water this morning. Reason why was pretty easy to discover. There was a giant hole with a hose coming out of it gushing water, surrounded by construction monkeys, while one was digging furiously. They decided for some reason to remove the entire fi...

Yesterday worker bees managed to nail about 5 boards into deck. There was another swarm of them working this am, apparently on deck. But at 5 boards per day, we have a long way to go.

There is progress today! Boards were actually being nailed down to start the new deck, with pneumatic nail gun, no less. Not quite as popular as the pneumatic goat launcher, of course, but still likely to expedite deck reconstruction. So if this keeps up, I figure we're 2 weeks away. Gives the engin...
