I'm perfectly willing to play best of 3's, as I said earlier on this thread. As for the name, that too is up for change. I'm not sure about Dingleberry Pickers, though...

No offense to Will, who is an excellent blocker and has improved his spike even over the last week, but Edub is a better all-around player. Particularly in the areas of finishing with both hands, serving, and setting Edub is better. Like I said, no offense to Will, who keeps getting better, but for ...

And I will play more called games...Best of three is much better in terms of braggin' rights than just one game. As long as we call them out the week before there shouldn't be any bitching or excuses.

O, glorious day for fight. We worship at the foot of the Gods who make such a day possible. They gaze on us with love and benevolence and bless us as their favorites. The healing waters of the Obstacle cosset us in their embrace, rendering irrelevant the withering gaze of the Father Orb. Father Orb ...

Two items of business: Polishing my turd -Phrase often uttered by 2006 MVP Pat after a teammate saves a poor pass. Pat, what is the origin of this phrase? Does your team have to win the point for the turd to be truly polished? Secondly, I would like to apologize to Jimback. Or Jim Back, as the great...

Ford brought this to my attention last night: Pirouette-Play made famous by Ford, aka Shamu. The hitter spins between 180 and 360 degrees to hit a set originating from directly behind him. Ideally sets come from a 45-degree angle, or down the net, but the pirouette play eliminates that need. "G...

I believe Jess coined the term "Lard Guard," although I would generally prefer to avoid cheap shots.

Point Guard-Generally smaller players without the height to be big hitters, a point guard distributes the ball, a la basketball. Their job, as the editor understands it, is to set, pass to another setter, and dig spikes in the back row. A point guard must have a deep understanding of the game, the t...

I don't speak for Chief, but my sense of it is that he is fine with people playing as long as it is legal and he isn't involved. Management has been getting on him lately, so as long as he has plausible deniability (think ol' Slick Willie), it's all good. Good to have the new blood!

Does this mean that Jimback is off the Vet Squad? If so, who is his replacement in the top four? How many times has Jimback threatened to retire anyway? If a Jimback falls in the forest (retires) and no one hears it, does it make a sound (or a wave in the Obstacle)?

After a somewhat disastrous 2007 season that saw the continued fall and absence of the so-called Vet Squad, the rise to prominence of the Vet Killers, the Fall of La Mirage by resident revolt, the creation of a new Obstacle, prickly Office Monkeys, and numerous other storylines, it's time to conside...

I will buy some beers for everyone, I would really appreciate it if people would help me out. I know this is a little las...
